Recipe for cannelloni with broccoli and chard

Today we still offer you a great classic of Corsican cuisine, the famous cannelloni with broccoli and chard. Yes, another authentic recipe that looks like us, simple, effective, very inexpensive, family and without fuss! Even if broccciu and chard can be replaced by ricotta and spinach, I advise you to make this recipe with the original ingredients, this is what makes it a real Corsican recipe. What we like, the baking of cannelloni with broccoli in the oven with tomato sauce, which gives it an incomparable flavour. Ingredients for 6 people

    22 round cannelloni for stuffing
    1 pastry bag for stuffing (or a spoon)

The joke:

    350g chard leaves (or spinach)
    10 mint leaves
    1/2 large onion
    1 clove of garlic
    500g brocciu (or ricotta)
    2 eggs
    salt and pepper

The tomato sauce:

    1L of tomato pulp
    1 large onion
    1 clove of garlic
    1 drizzle of olive oil
    salt and pepper

Preparation of cannelloni

(Total time: 1h40 = Preparation: 1h + Cooking: 40 min)

    Step 1 :

    Finely chop the chard leaves (green part), mint, 1/2 onion and garlic clove. Set aside in a large bowl.
    Step 2 :

    Crush the broccoli with a fork on a plate and pour it into the large bowl.

    Step 3 :

    Add two eggs, season with salt and pepper and mix to form the stuffing and set aside. The stuffing is ready.

    Step 4 :

    For the sauce, coarsely chop the large onion and garlic clove.

    Step 5 :

    Sauté the onion and garlic in a drizzle of olive oil and add the tomato pulp. Adjust the seasoning and simmer over low heat.

    Step 6 :

    Preheat your oven to 150°C (rotating heat) and remove the piping bag.
    Step 7 :

    Fill the pastry bag with your stuffing and garnish your cannelloni.
    Step 8 :

    In a gratin dish, pour a layer of tomato sauce and place a layer of cannelloni on top and cover with tomato sauce.
    Step 9 :

    Place a second layer of cannelloni and then cover again with tomato sauce.
    Step 10 :

    Bake your dish at half height for 40 to 45 minutes. It's ready! It's ready!

I recommend you to taste the hot brocciu cannelloni with a good glass of Corsican red wine. Buon appetitu !
